Not Fast Enough!

OK. I've been walking for at lest 5 days now and I'm not seein' the results. I'm mean, com'on, how long is it supposed to take to loose 1 and 1/2 persons? Ugh! You know what's really frustratin' is when your Spanx don't even make ya feel good. If I haven't lost 30 pounds by next week, I may just have to walk an extra lap or three every day.

C'mon now Loretta... if being a coal miner's daughter has taught you anything, it should be that determination pays off. You keep on walking, child. No mountain is too high for 'Retta.

Not to be discouraging, but I walked my butt off for MONTHS and saw no weight loss. (40 minutes on the treadmill at least 5 days a week!) It took drastically changing my eating habits to start losing the pounds. I don't starve myself, I just make healthier choices. I pretty much follow the Abs Diet Eating Guide. It's not a "fad diet," it's a healthy eating lifestyle. I highly recommend it! :-)
Thanks for visiting me at Path to Health

Thanks so much for the support from both of you. I actually have recently changed my eating habits, I'll probably be griping about it on tomorrows blog. :)

One of the things that I found was that almost within days my back muscles began to tighten up. Do you stroll or are you working harder? I usually try to walk at a good clip, although when I started out, that good clip was only 2.2 mph. Do you have a treadmill or are you walking on the sidewalk? If you are on a treadmill, try putting the incline up to about 2.0. That helps take stress off the back and helps the workout.

I acutally walk at the mall. I use a jogging stroller to hold my son. I time each lap, so that I can get an idea of how fast I can go and then try to beat that time. I work up a pretty good sweat, but I'm going to start using a heart monitor to find out if I'm anywhere near my target. I appreciate your suggestions.

Welcome to blog world! :) Loved your writing. You made me laugh.

I think rolls glistening with butter are torture. Next time I might try "accidentally" spilling my Diet Coke on the bread basket.

Keith uses the treadmill when it is too hot to run and he wants to run for distance. I think he gets his incline up to 8 or 10 and his speed up about the same. I can't make it past 4 mph. I am running at that point and I don't want to run. Keith also uses a heart monitor when he runs and takes his blood pressure when he gets done and then again about an hour after his run.

Thanks for the info. I'm going to look at getting a heart monitor.

I'm having trouble with the save feature on my blog. It's saving old work instead of edited work even after I press the save button. I would appreciate any help from a seasoned blogger.
